so i just got off the night audit shift and had such a frustrating experience with an attempted walk in.
  • 04
so i get a phone call at around 12:30am asking if we have a room for tonight and tomorrow night (we do) i confirm he's looking for two nights and he says "no only one" so we're off

to a great start already. he said he'll arrive in a couple minutes and asked if he can just make the reservation when he arrives.
  • 06
i informed him it's our last room of the night and that in any case, we need a credit card to hold the room. he immediately flips out at me saying he's

be at 3pm - this would still be counted as saturday night in his billing - that's just how it works, essentially if we did that, he would be receiving a free night

because he was wanting to check out on monday. so finally he just accepts it and throws his passport at me and when i ask for a credit card he just points

his name to provide. he says he'll just give me cash then and i inform him that due to hotel policy we don't accept cash (which we don't). he becomes irate at this point and argues
  • 17
with me to just make an exception for him. i apologize and repeat what i've already told him
  • 18
he goes to his car and comes back with a wallet (even though he said his was lost/stolen) and gives me a credit card he claims to be his wife's. i repeated that the credit card needs to be in

just accept whatever credit card he has or take cash for him to stay. my manager repeats everything i have said and she argues with him some more.
